Although we couldn't find any rodents, Joel had a sock chewed up and a hole chewed in his pack where he had mistakenly left some snacks. 

Here we are ready to start the climb up the NW corner of Headstone Rock

Headstone Rock was one of the most adrenaline pumping climbs we did due to it's 5.6 rating and high exposure plus the strong wind that day.

Here's Headstone Rock. The climb began at the bottom of this massive boulder - about 50 above the ground level....

...and ended at the top of the boulder about 60 feet up from the bottom of the boulder.

Here Joel leads up the 1st pitch of a 300' climb we spent 6 hrs. on. We ended up retreating after Joel was unable to find good quality rock in which to place gear. Fortunately we had our headlamps and wind/rain shells in our packs as we needed to rappel back to the ground as it was getting dark. Unfortunately we had to leave some gear behind - as we needed an anchor from which to rappel off of.

The next day turned into "operation gear retrieval." We found a way to hike/scramble to the top. We built anchor #2. Joel rappelled off anchor #2, retrieved the gear we had left the night before (anchor #1), and 300' later was safely on the ground. Meanwhile Abbi retrieved anchor #2 after a series of predetermined pulls on the rope from 300' feet below from Joel indicating that he was safe and on the ground. She then masterfully made her way down the mountain through a series of large boulder fields.

At last a 50' high 5.8 rated classic crack climbing top rope. No stress here

As you can see she made it past the 1st tough move, she is making nice use of the hand crack and she is keeping good feet on the rock.

We're in Pasadena now. Camping out in a Fuller parking lot for $2 per night. We are spending our days looking for more permanent housing...although I doubt we'll be able to find anything this cheap.
